Ski Camp

1.8~1.13 (2024)

Jan 8 (2024)

After grabing a handfull of socks I rode the bus that took us to Yongpyong Resort, a major ski and snowboard resort in South Korea. It was years ago when I last went on a ski camp, so I was very excited. After everyone gathered, we received safety training and got our ski equipment. But before skiing, we ate first. Then we learned how to snow plow. After dinner, the lesson continued. Then we had a snack, sat down, and went to sleep.

We woke up early in the morning and had breakfast. Then we went to ride on the snow. This time, I also learned the snow plow turn. The schedule was not too different from yesterday; wake up, eat, ride, eat ride, snacks, shower, go to sleep.

The same as above.

This day was great, except for the fact that I fell hard. I rolled and hit my left knee with my right ski. It kind of hurts, but I think I'm fine. I also learned stem turn. The day went pretty much the same as before.

I continued to sharpen my skiing skills, especially the stem turn. I also learned how to execute long turns. With the level test approaching soon, I'm feeling a bit nervous. We also did a few activites like dancing.

Today is the last day. We got up early, packed our bags, ate our last breakfast here, and went out one last time to take the level test. I had never taken a ski test before, but I achieved level 4 (You can only get 4 levels at a time). I received my ski technical grade certificate and badge. I got on the bus headed home. It was sad to think this was the end, but I also got excited thinking about coming back next year. Next year, I'm going to get level 8!
